A task-training packet with a worked demonstration, guided practice, independent assessment, feedback, and a follow-up plan.

Keep your working files in your own notebook or software. Save a private description, checklist, and work link in My Proof.

What to include

  • A needs brief distinguishing the task skill from the resource barrier.
  • An observable objective and four-check assessment checklist.
  • A four-part demonstration script with visible comparisons and final evidence.
  • A guided-practice card, targeted prompt, and corrected response.
  • A scored two-card assessment with reasons and a bounded result.
  • A revised training packet with follow-up evidence, resource action, and two planned recheck cases.

Review and revise

Use these criteria to check your work and choose what to improve.

  • Every required section is present and traceable to the supplied case facts.
  • Decisions separate known facts, assumptions, and unresolved questions.
  • Records, calculations, and instructions agree with each other and the stated rules.
  • The final revision addresses a changed case and explains what someone should do next.

The idea in everyday life

Fictional North Room booking policy: each request needs its ID, date, start/end times, headcount, and whether step-free access is needed. Duration is end time minus start time and must be at most 120 minutes. Birch holds 12 and has steps; Elm holds 20 and has step-free access. Select the smallest available room that meets headcount and access needs. Missing facts go to requester clarification. Excess duration or no suitable available room goes pending to Lee. Only after all checks pass, record the booking ID and matching confirmation. The two-card assessment passed. A fictional one-week follow-up log has three work samples: F1 correct normal booking; F2 correctly pending for excess duration; F3 could not check availability because the current sheet link was broken. Sam’s simulated comment: “I remembered to check both access and headcount.” You are planning follow-up and analyzing supplied records, not claiming a real person was trained. Resource owner Lee can repair the link.

The idea

Initial learning and later use are separate things to check.

Follow along

Plan follow-up and revise the training — guided practice

Use delayed evidence to improve support after the session.

Use a text editor, a free document editor, or paper. Start from the following fictional records; they reset this lesson even if your earlier answer differed. 1. 1. Classify follow-up evidence

Separate correct performance from the resource blocker and self-report.

You should see: Two correct samples, one blocked sample, one confidence comment.

Different evidence types answer different questions.

  2. 2. Assign the support repair

Name an owner and concrete action for F3.

You should see: Lee repairs and verifies the current availability link.

The issue calls for a resource fix, not blame.

  3. 3. Revise the training packet

Add a fallback instruction for an unavailable sheet.

You should see: Keep request pending; ask Lee for the current sheet; never guess availability.

Training should cover a plausible interruption to the task.

  4. 4. Set a next check

Plan one fresh normal case and one resource-blocked case after the repair.

You should see: Check both task performance and the fallback action.

Follow-up verifies whether the revision works in changed conditions.

Now change one thing

Changed follow-up has five samples: three correct, one incorrect and one resource-blocked. Enter the count that directly demonstrates correct performance.

Your work

What to finish

A revised training packet with follow-up evidence, resource action, and two planned recheck cases.

Common mistake

Watch for this

Calling a positive survey comment proof of sustained task performance.

How can I tell I understand it?

Check your result against the worked example, then explain the changed case without using an unstated assumption.

1Learners say a course was enjoyable, but no work samples were checked. What remains unknown?
2A worker learned an old rule correctly, but the policy changed yesterday. What should the trainer revise?
3A follow-up finds one repeated error in otherwise correct work. What is a focused next action?
