Build a demonstration that exposes decisions
See this course’s project requirements
A task-training packet with a worked demonstration, guided practice, independent assessment, feedback, and a follow-up plan.
Keep your working files in your own notebook or software. Save a private description, checklist, and work link in My Proof.
What to include
- A needs brief distinguishing the task skill from the resource barrier.
- An observable objective and four-check assessment checklist.
- A four-part demonstration script with visible comparisons and final evidence.
- A guided-practice card, targeted prompt, and corrected response.
- A scored two-card assessment with reasons and a bounded result.
- A revised training packet with follow-up evidence, resource action, and two planned recheck cases.
Review and revise
Use these criteria to check your work and choose what to improve.
- Every required section is present and traceable to the supplied case facts.
- Decisions separate known facts, assumptions, and unresolved questions.
- Records, calculations, and instructions agree with each other and the stated rules.
- The final revision addresses a changed case and explains what someone should do next.

The idea in everyday life
Fictional North Room booking policy: each request needs its ID, date, start/end times, headcount, and whether step-free access is needed. Duration is end time minus start time and must be at most 120 minutes. Birch holds 12 and has steps; Elm holds 20 and has step-free access. Select the smallest available room that meets headcount and access needs. Missing facts go to requester clarification. Excess duration or no suitable available room goes pending to Lee. Only after all checks pass, record the booking ID and matching confirmation. Demonstration D1: June 18, 10:00–11:30, 10 attendees, step-free required. Both rooms are available for the whole period. The log ends at B40, so the next booking ID is B41. Sam observes a written demonstration; you may read the script aloud or review it silently.
A demonstration includes the hidden comparison, not just the final click.
Build a demonstration that exposes decisions — guided practice
Write a short show-and-explain script for one complete case.
Use a text editor, a free document editor, or paper. Start from the following fictional records; they reset this lesson even if your earlier answer differed. 1. Model the first checks
Read all D1 fields and calculate its duration aloud in the script.
You should see: All fields present; 90 minutes is within 120.
The learner sees the method rather than an unexplained pass.
2. Compare room suitability
Explain why headcount alone does not select Birch.
You should see: Birch fits 10 but fails access; Elm meets both.
The reason addresses the diagnosed error directly.
3. Check the resource
Point to both rooms’ full-period availability before selecting Elm.
You should see: Elm is available for the entire request.
Suitability and availability are separate checks.
4. Finish with evidence
Create the sample log and confirmation using B41 and the same dates/times.
You should see: B41: Elm, June 18, 10:00–11:30, 10 attendees.
Matching records make the final result inspectable.
What to finish
A four-part demonstration script with visible comparisons and final evidence.
Watch for this
Demonstrating a fast sequence while leaving decision reasons unstated.
How can I tell I understand it?
Check your result against the worked example, then explain the changed case without using an unstated assumption.
