Grade 10: Spanish foundations

Start with a unit whose prerequisites fit. Work through the lessons, use the study guide to review, and try the new cases before continuing.

  1. Unit 1 · 4 lessons

Build and Negate Regular Present Actions

Regular present endings connect a verb’s stem with its subject. These supplied actions occur now or habitually; a statement’s negative form keeps that agreement while changing its claim.

Before you begin: Use yo/tú/ella/nosotros/ustedes and recognize an infinitive ending.

  2. Unit 2 · 4 lessons

    Use Common Present Irregulars

Common verbs have forms that cannot all be produced from a regular ending rule. Learn supplied paradigms in meaningful contexts, then check subject agreement rather than treating every changed stem as an error.

Before you begin: Conjugate the supplied regular present patterns and match named subjects.

  3. Unit 3 · 4 lessons

    Read Questions, Numbers and Schedules

Questions request a particular kind of information. Number words, clock expressions and date labels then communicate amounts or times; use the explicitly supplied practice records rather than a real schedule.

Before you begin: Use present verbs, paired question marks and simple noun groups.

  4. Unit 4 · 4 lessons

Express Possession, Near Reference and Preferences

Possessives and demonstratives describe whose object or which nearby referent is meant. Gustar organizes a preference around the thing liked, so its verb number follows that grammatical subject rather than the person experiencing the preference.

Before you begin: Build agreeing noun groups and match present subject/verb forms.

Check what you can explain

The subject test uses additional supplied cases across these units. Its feedback links back to the relevant lessons. Use it to plan practice; a score on these questions is not a school grade or proof of complete subject mastery.
