Define launch review and pause gates
See this course’s project requirements
An original fictional partner-pilot readiness packet with purpose and roles, learner-access/privacy questions, delivery schedule, evidence definitions, staged launch gates and a review/exit agreement.
Keep your working files in your own notebook or software. Save a private description, checklist, and work link in My Proof.
What to include
- Define the fictional purpose, controlled outputs and excluded promises.
- Assign operational and authorized decision owners plus escalation routes.
- Separate practical access, permission and minimal-data questions.
- Show capacity/time calculations and evidence-linked launch/hold gates.
- Include proposed review/exit terms and an accurate unsent handoff.
Review and revise
Use these criteria to check your work and choose what to improve.
- The two-organization scope and owners are specific and consistent.
- Data collection and access claims match the stated purpose and actual evidence.
- Staffing/time units reconcile and changed enrollment is handled honestly.
- Draft, unresolved, completed and reviewed stages are labeled accurately.

The idea in everyday life
Fictional Alder School and Juniper Employer are considering four 45-minute practice sessions for 12 learners. Each session has 35 minutes of activity and 10 minutes of feedback. The supplied staffing rule is at most six learners per facilitator. Two facilitators are available. Each needs 10 setup minutes before each session. School lead S owns learner access and institutional permission decisions; employer lead E owns staff availability and workplace examples; program lead P owns curriculum support and evidence definitions. All people and organizations are fictional. This is an unsent planning exercise, not an actual LifeStarter partnership or an executed agreement. Current readiness: curriculum task reviewed; two facilitators confirmed; practical device/keyboard route not yet tested; S’s participation/data decisions still open. The fictional host requires all four gates before launch.
A checklist is a decision tool only when status matches evidence. One confirmed condition cannot compensate for a separate unresolved requirement.

1. List the four gates
Write curriculum, staffing, practical access and host permission/data decision as separate rows.
You should see: Four distinct gates are retained.
They represent different failure modes and owners.
2. Attach evidence and status
Record reviewed task and staffing confirmation as met; access test and host decisions as unresolved.
You should see: Two gates met and two unresolved.
Do not mark an open question passed just because planning is advanced.
3. Make the launch decision
Apply the all-four rule and draft a hold with S/P access and permission actions.
You should see: Launch held pending the two unresolved gates.
The exercise asks for a grounded decision, not an optimistic score.
4. Set review and pause conditions
Choose an explicit review time as a planning assumption; require rechecking changed staff/access conditions before resumption.
You should see: The handoff has owners, a review point and a pause route.
Conditions may change after the first checklist was completed.
What to finish
An evidence-linked launch/hold table and review/pause rule.
Watch for this
Averaging checklist statuses so confirmed curriculum can hide unresolved access or permissions.
How can I tell I understand it?
Launch and pause decisions follow the host’s stated all-gates rule.
