The idea in everyday life

A style is a named set of formatting rules that can update many paragraphs together.
Build reusable text styles — guided practice
Apply consistent title, heading and body formats.
Open the draft. Use an installed readable font such as Liberation Sans or another available sans serif. Target: title 24 pt, Heading 1 16 pt, body 11 pt.
1. Step 1
Select a body paragraph and set 11 pt, left alignment and 1.15 line spacing using Format > Paragraph. Open View > Styles. Choose Paragraph Styles, then New Style from Selection; name it Issue Body.
You should see: Issue Body captures the selected paragraph’s format.
Establish the document structure.
2. Step 2
Apply Issue Body to all prose paragraphs. Apply built-in Title to the main title, then edit that style to 24 pt.
You should see: The main title differs clearly from body copy.
Apply a repeatable formatting rule.
3. Step 3
Apply built-in Heading 1 to the six section headings. In Styles, right-click Heading 1 > Edit Style; set 16 pt and space above/below using Indents & Spacing.
You should see: All section headings share one semantic heading style.
Inspect the reader-facing result.
4. Step 4
Change Issue Body once to 12 pt and verify all body paragraphs change. Undo the trial or restore 11 pt; save.
You should see: One style edit updates every assigned body paragraph.
Preserve the source and its evidence.
What to finish
One style edit updates every assigned body paragraph.
Watch for this
Do not use repeated spaces or blank paragraphs as a layout system.
