The idea in everyday life

Continue the two-page draft. Use only the supplied copy and simple lines or a two-column details table. No external photo is needed.

The idea

Useful decoration supports reading; it should not displace the information it is meant to clarify.

Follow along

Add navigation without clutter — guided practice

Make details and page order easy to locate.

Continue the two-page draft. Use only the supplied copy and simple lines or a two-column details table. No external photo is needed.

  1. 1. Step 1

Turn Quick details into a two-column, four-row table using Table > Insert Table. Put labels Date, Time, Cost, Place in column 1 and the supplied values in column 2.

You should see: The four event facts are aligned in a readable table.

    Establish the document structure.

  2. 2. Step 2

Select the table and choose Table > Properties. Make it fit the page content area and keep text 11 pt. Use a light border and a bold label column.

You should see: The table fits inside the margins.

    Apply a repeatable formatting rule.

  3. 3. Step 3

Enable the footer with Insert > Header and Footer > Footer for the active page style. Insert a page-number field with Insert > Field > Page Number.

You should see: Page-number fields show 1 and 2.

    Inspect the reader-facing result.

  4. 4. Step 4

At 100% zoom, confirm the title, headings and event details can be found quickly. Keep the fictional-practice line near the top.

You should see: Navigation remains subordinate to the content.

Preserve the source and its evidence.

Now change one thing

A details table has four rows and two columns. How many cells does it have?

Your work

What to finish
