Translate the agreement into observable success
See this course’s project requirements
A fictional recurring service account plan with success criteria, dependency milestones, adoption evidence, scope-risk escalations and an honest renew/revise/end recommendation.
Keep your working files in your own notebook or software. Save a private description, checklist, and work link in My Proof.
What to include
- Translate the fictional agreement into observable success and role boundaries.
- Map setup/data/staff dependencies with actual owners and evidence.
- Provide a checked first-use summary and explicit support-stage labels.
- Reconcile raw files with three distinct useful weeks and the W3 gap.
- Prepare an unsent voluntary renewal outline and conditional renew/revise/end recommendation.
Review and revise
Use these criteria to check your work and choose what to improve.
- Useful use requires the specified checked work product, not access counts.
- Dependencies and service/customer responsibilities remain distinct.
- Adoption totals deduplicate weeks and preserve missing evidence.
- The recommendation follows the supplied rule without pressure or invented acceptance.

The idea in everyday life
Fictional recurring service: Cedar Stock supports customer Elm Shop with a weekly stock-summary template for four weeks. The agreement supplies template setup, two staff practice sessions and support for four weekly summaries; Elm owns approved item data and its staff schedule. Useful-use evidence means a staff member independently completes a summary that reconciles to the supplied item list. A login, opened email or downloaded template is not enough. All account records are fictional, every required exercise is a paper/local-document draft, and no subscription or customer outreach is required.
Customer success begins with the agreed job and evidence of useful use. Access events and persuasive promises are different from the customer accomplishing that job.

1. Extract the provider outputs
List template setup, two staff practice sessions and support for four weekly summaries.
You should see: Three service commitments retain their stated quantities.
A recurring relationship still needs a bounded scope.
2. Define useful use
Write a completed, independently checked stock summary reconciling to the supplied item list.
You should see: Useful use has a work product and an accuracy check.
A login cannot show whether the summary was completed correctly.
3. Separate customer responsibilities
Record approved item data and available staff time as Elm responsibilities.
You should see: Provider support does not authorize customer records or create staff availability.
Shared success requires visible dependency ownership.
4. Name excluded promises
Remove guaranteed sales, savings and renewal from the success card; retain actual work evidence.
You should see: The plan promises scoped support, not an outside commercial outcome.
A service goal should not become an unsupported advertising claim.
What to finish
An agreement-to-success card with quantities, observable evidence and role limits.
Watch for this
Using account logins as proof that the customer achieved the agreed business task.
How can I tell I understand it?
Customer responsibilities and external outcomes are separately labeled.
