Grade 7: Computing

Start with a unit whose prerequisites fit. Work through the lessons, use the study guide to review, and try the new cases before continuing.

  1. Unit 1 · 4 lessons

    Represent, Compress and Protect Information

Decode 3A2B. Compare keeping that record, sorting its expanded text and keeping only the A count. Explain why a public character code is not a security guarantee.

Before you begin: Read character sequences and multiply whole numbers.

  2. Unit 2 · 4 lessons

    Evaluate a Simple Classification Model

Use eight held-out cases with six correct predictions. Explain the accuracy and classify a reusable prediction whose label is not reusable. State one limitation.

Before you begin: Compare categories and calculate simple percentages.

  3. Unit 3 · 4 lessons

Represent and Check Small Binary Data

Decode and encode unsigned values, distinguish pixel interpretation and test a toy parity check.

Before you begin: Add place values; count symbols; read rows and columns.

  4. Unit 4 · 4 lessons

    Organize Programs into Clear Responsibilities

Design a paper helper for doubling a nonnegative integer count. State its contract, distinguish return from printing and give a valid example without modifying shared state.

Before you begin: Trace simple functions and distinguish data from displayed text.
