Learn field orientation, possession, downs, distance, scoring, substitutions, and the basic jobs of offense, defense, and special teams. Rules differ across tackle, flag, age, school, and league contexts, so use the relevant current rulebook.

    Watch one drive and pause before each snap to identify down, distance, personnel, formation, and likely objective.
