Supplied materials

  • Paper or a text document; all cases below are original fictional learning inputs.
  • An adult may read aloud; drawing or spoken answers are valid. No personal health information or physical performance is required.
  • The criterion is point-wave-rest. The fictional record says point-wave and stops. The visible omission is rest, so add the third card. The record does not show whether the omission was a misunderstanding or a recording error. A helpful comment names the missing step and then checks the revised three-card order, without claiming to know the learner’s motivation.
  • A three-card plan records only its first two cards. Which revision fits?
  • A route diagram crosses a chair. Which revision fits?
  • The rule is two beats per card but the marks show one. Which revision fits?
  • The feedback only says “bad performance.” What fits?
  • A route crosses a second obstacle despite avoiding the first. Which revision fits?
  • The diagram’s card order is correct, but its beat count violates the timing rule. Which fits?

Learn the idea

Movement feedback can describe timing, order or a planned route. The observation should match the agreed criterion. In a paper model, “The third card is missing” gives a precise repair; “try harder” does not explain a change.

Separate the feedback from interpretation. A model showing two cards instead of three establishes missing order information, not why a person made an error. Change one relevant feature, then compare the revised model with the criterion again.

Use fictional logs and diagrams. Drawn and seated alternatives are valid. No learner’s body, effort or health is judged. Knowledge of a correction does not prove actual motor skill, which would require appropriate practical teaching and assessment.

  1. Read or listen to the pretend story. Point to the details the question gives you.
  2. Find the exact missing card, blocked path, or other feature described. Repair that feature and check the same rule again.
  3. Check your answer against the example. Say what matches and what you would change.
  4. Try the practice questions, then the extra task. Drawing or spoken answers are welcome.
Worked example

See the method in action

The criterion is point-wave-rest. The fictional record says point-wave and stops. The visible omission is rest, so add the third card. The record does not show whether the omission was a misunderstanding or a recording error. A helpful comment names the missing step and then checks the revised three-card order, without claiming to know the learner’s motivation.

Helpful tips
  • An observed error does not reveal a person’s motive.
  • Change the feature relevant to the criterion, then recheck it.
Revise from observable feedback: A three-card plan records only its first two cards. Which revision fits?

Feedback appears here after you check. This is practice, not a graded school assessment.

See the answer and explanation

Add the missing card named by the order criterion.

Add the specified missing card; do not invent a motive.

Take it further

Write a comment for a correct order with a route crossing a bench. Expected: preserve order, identify the crossing and redraw the route; do not infer effort.

More practice: try new cases

Choose an answer for each problem. Explain your method on paper, then use the feedback to decide what to revisit.
