Use one clear feedback criterion

Supplied materials

  • Paper or a text document; all cases below are original fictional learning inputs.
  • An adult may read aloud; drawing or spoken answers are valid. No personal health information or physical performance is required.
  • The fictional plan has correct point-wave-rest order and a STOP word, but its path crosses a chair. The feedback can say, “Order and stop match the plan; redraw the arrow around the chair.” This separates the successful features from the remaining path issue. It does not claim that the whole plan is safe because the order is correct.
  • The criterion is point before wave; the strip shows wave before point. Which feedback fits?
  • The criterion is clear passage; the arrow crosses a table. Which fits?
  • The criterion is non-color signals; only red and green are shown. Which fits?
  • The criterion is a visible STOP word and the drawing contains it. Which fits?
  • A route meets order but crosses a chair. Under the path criterion, what fits?
  • The task requires START/STOP words; it has colors but no words. What fits?

Learn the idea

A criterion is a feature used to judge a model. In this task it can be action order, clear path or inclusive cues. Feedback is useful when it names the exact feature and a repair. A general insult provides no evidence.

Check one criterion at a time. Mark the place where the model matches or differs. A plan can meet one criterion while missing another, so do not turn one success into “everything works.” Compare the changed drawing again after repair.

Use only fictional paper plans. No classmates’ bodies, private conditions or physical abilities are evaluated. Draw or explain the fix. A real movement session would need its own safe environment and adult oversight.

  1. Read or listen to the pretend story. Point to the details the question gives you.
  2. Read the one feature being checked. Compare that feature in the drawing with the rule, and name a matching success or repair.
  3. Check your answer against the example. Say what matches and what you would change.
  4. Try the practice questions, then the extra task. Drawing or spoken answers are welcome.
Worked example

See the method in action

The fictional plan has correct point-wave-rest order and a STOP word, but its path crosses a chair. The feedback can say, “Order and stop match the plan; redraw the arrow around the chair.” This separates the successful features from the remaining path issue. It does not claim that the whole plan is safe because the order is correct.

Helpful tips
  • One met criterion does not prove every criterion is met.
  • Name the exact feature and change; do not insult a person.
Use one clear feedback criterion: The criterion is point before wave; the strip shows wave before point. Which feedback fits?

Feedback appears here after you check. This is practice, not a graded school assessment.

See the answer and explanation

Repair order; the action cards violate the specified sequence.

The error is the specified order.

Take it further

Write two comments for a model with wrong order and a clear path. Expected: acknowledge the path, specify the order repair and avoid claiming everything passes.

More practice: try new cases

Choose an answer for each problem. Explain your method on paper, then use the feedback to decide what to revisit.
