Review: Revise a Message for Meaning and Agreement

Revision checks more than fluent appearance. A corrected message should preserve its assigned speaker, referent and intended relationship while fixing a precise agreement, accent or register problem. Use only the fictional texts supplied here.

Which candidate does that? Candidate answers: (A) el libro nuevo (B) la casa pequeña (C) la casa pequeño (D) la mesa pequeña. 2. The stated writer is yo; the action is present estudiar. Work on paper or in your own document. Explain the choices you made.

  • Use the exact supplied situation and speaker rather than personal details.
  • Show the relevant word ending, evidence phrase, time cue or meaning distinction.
  • Write all four requested results with accents and punctuation.
  • Explain one rejected alternative and check that meaning remains faithful to the input.
Compare with a model response

1. la casa pequeña. The original article/noun fixes the referent and its gender/number. Adjust the adjective to produce la casa pequeña. The unchanged phrase retains the error; an unrelated correctly formed group fails to preserve the supplied noun. 2. estudio. The named subject yo requires estudio from the supplied regular present pattern. Replace estudias with estudio; do not change the subject to justify the original error. The repaired statement preserves the requested speaker and action. 3. Tus mapas están aquí. The plural possessive tus follows the possessed maps and has no written accent. The competing forms either change that role or create an incorrect agreement/spelling. 4. ¿Puedes cocinar, por favor? The stated address convention is tú, which selects puedes. Keep the activity cocinar and both question marks: ¿Puedes cocinar, por favor? The alternative convention is not inherently rude/wrong, but it differs from this assigned message.

A different response can also meet the criteria. Compare the evidence and reasoning, rather than copying the wording.
