Review: Repair and Test Paper Rules
Improve drawing instructions, sort by a stated property and track inputs and outputs.
Bring the unit skills together
Use these 4 new cases to check your reasoning. Choices are temporary and are not saved to an account, sent to staff or recorded as school grades. Download your current review choices before leaving or reloading.
The download contains your current choices and any checked feedback. Keep the separate transfer-task work in your own document; downloading its instructions does not mark it complete.
Use the skills in a new task
Design a paper stamp rule: each fresh card begins with two dots inside a square, and the rule adds one dot below the square. Repair the draft draw a square; draw two dots; add a dot; stop. Test it, then sort a blue square card and a red triangle card using squares in Q, all others in O.
Work on paper or in your own document. Explain the choices you made.
- Specify inside for the first two dots and below for the extra dot.
- Test a fresh card with exactly two inside dots and one below.
- Identify the input dots and the one added output dot.
- Put the square in Q and triangle in O regardless of color.
Compare with a model response
Repaired steps: draw a square; draw two dots inside it; draw one dot below it; stop. My input has two inside dots; the rule adds one below, so the output has three dots total in the requested places. Blue square → Q; red triangle → O.
A different response can also meet the criteria. Compare the evidence and reasoning, rather than copying the wording.
