Agree a manageable scope

Start the discussion with 8–15 learners over eight weeks, then agree cohort size, dates, learner goals, accessibility needs, review capacity, and communication arrangements. Learners may use fictional or de-identified practice material.

Start with a short orientation

  1. Confirm learner eligibility, permissions, device and internet access, and any accommodations.
  2. Demonstrate account access and recovery, the weekly route, lesson checks, project submission, and where to ask for help.
  3. Complete the starting check, choose a practical goal, and schedule realistic weekly work time.

Name the people responsible

  • The organization names a pilot owner, learner support contact, and project reviewer; one person may hold multiple roles if capacity allows.
  • Agree how learners receive help, how often projects receive feedback, and who handles access problems and unresolved concerns.
  • Life Starter provides the self-paced learning product. Any Life Starter staff, coaching, or review hours require a separate agreement.

Review learning evidence

Use starting and final checks, lesson completion, project submissions, revisions, and reviewer feedback where provided. Keep participation, submission, self-rating, and reviewer judgment distinct.

The organization can prepare a manual aggregate end-summary from organization-owned records it is authorized to use: participation, completion, available learning evidence, delivery issues, and suggested improvements. Confirm access and reporting fields in advance. Automated WIOA reporting and exports remain planned capabilities.

The summary describes participation and observed learning work, with each measure labeled by its source.

Confirm readiness before accepting learners

  • Test account creation, sign-in, account recovery, progress saving, and project access with the intended setup.
  • Confirm reviewer permissions, feedback workflow, support ownership, and realistic capacity.
  • Agree privacy notices, permitted data, record access, retention, and any sharing permissions; keep sensitive personal records out of submissions.
  • For learners under 18, establish the organization’s applicable permission process, responsible adult involvement, and safeguarding arrangements before enrollment.
