See this course’s project requirements
A complete six-panel comic page with editable artwork, a readable PNG and a panel-by-panel text companion.
Keep your working files in your own notebook or software. Save a private description, checklist, and work link in My Proof.
What to include
- Six panels with a coherent original beginning, discovery and ending.
- A clear two-column reading path and visible gutters.
- Consistent characters and objects with readable lettering.
- A limited palette checked for meaning without color alone.
- Layered KRA, PNG, text companion and one documented revision.
Review and revise
Use these criteria to check your work and choose what to improve.
- Each panel contributes an understandable action.
- Reading order and lettering work at the intended viewing size.
- Clues remain consistent across panels.
- Source, image and text companion agree.
Want more background?
The idea in everyday life
Open small-surprise-04.kra. Target: full 1400×1000 PNG, KRA source and comic-description.txt.
A finished visual story includes an output people can open and enough text to understand its sequence.
Export a readable comic — guided practice
Deliver the page with a text description and editable source.
Open small-surprise-04.kra. Target: full 1400×1000 PNG, KRA source and comic-description.txt.
1. Inspect the complete page
Hide Rough and any temporary guides. Check six panels, reading order, six in-story words, title and margins. Save the source.
You should see: The final visible layers contain only intended artwork and lettering.
A full-page pass catches omissions that close-up drawing can miss.
2. Export a PNG
Choose File > Export and save small-surprise.png. Keep the white background visible and use the default PNG options. Open the PNG in a separate image viewer.
You should see: A 1400×1000 readable image shows the complete page.
The external view verifies the actual delivered pixels.
3. Write a text companion
Create comic-description.txt. Include the title, then panels 1–6 in reading order with the supplied actions and exact messages. Add one sentence describing the ending: Nia prepares the same game for the next person.
You should see: The visual sequence has a complete plain-text companion.
Text gives another way to access the story and preserves words independently of an image.
4. Record and package
Keep the KRA, PNG, script, description and a short revision note such as enlarged panel 4 lettering after 50% review. Reopen the KRA to confirm layers remain separate.
You should see: The handoff includes source, viewable page, text and evidence of revision.
A flattened image alone does not preserve future editing.
What to finish
A PNG comic, layered KRA, text companion and revision note.
Watch for this
Leaving the story available only as tiny image text.
