As the exposure video changes settings, first observe what light exists. Settings record the scene; they do not replace a deliberate lighting decision.What this lesson is really solving.
Before changing settings, identify the key light's direction, softness, color, and contrast. Move the subject, camera, or light and observe how shape and background separation change. Use practical reflectors or negative fill before assuming more equipment is required.

Walk around one subject and observe how front, side, back, overhead, and window light shape it.

Move the subject closer to or farther from the source to change softness and contrast.

Turn off mixed household lights when their color conflicts with the main source.

Use a white wall, reflector, shade, curtain, or negative fill before adding more equipment.
