After setting a technically correct exposure, compare how framing changes the story even when camera settings stay constant.

Decide what the image is about, then remove or reposition anything that competes. Explore distance, height, lens choice, foreground, negative space, line, and moment. Rules of thirds can prompt variation, but the subject and intended feeling should decide.

    Change your position and focal length before cropping; make wide, medium, and detail versions.

    Use lines, repetition, layers, symmetry, imbalance, and negative space only when they strengthen the idea.

Kai makes a wide frame showing the studio, a medium frame connecting hands and wheel, and a close detail of clay texture. A bright exit sign is removed by shifting position, not retouching. The sequence now establishes place, action, and material.
