Review: Things We Need and Work We Do
Name needs and recognize how work helps people.
Bring the unit skills together
Use these 4 new cases to check your reasoning. Choices are temporary and are not saved to an account, sent to staff or recorded as school grades. Download your current review choices before leaving or reloading.
The download contains your current choices and any checked feedback. Keep the separate transfer-task work in your own document; downloading its instructions does not mark it complete.
Use the skills in a new task
Make four small boxes for Things We Need and Work We Do, one for each lesson: Needs and Extra Choices; People Make and Help; Resources We Use; Only So Much Time. In each box, choose one supplied card and explain its match using the notes. Compare two of your cards: what makes their matches different? You may draw or tell an adult your answers; the adult can write them for you. Use the lesson cards; you do not need a purchase, interview, personal record or trip. For the adult helping: keep the fictional examples and historical notes distinct; these short cards do not tell every detail about a person or place.
Work on paper or in your own document. Explain the choices you made.
- Choose one supplied card from each lesson: Needs and Extra Choices; People Make and Help; Resources We Use; Only So Much Time.
- Use the notes to name each match and explain its clue.
- Compare two cards and say or show how their clues differ.
- Keep the events and details as written; do not make up a quotation or new event.
- With an adult, name one question the cards do not answer.

Compare: The card says: “A fictional group decides to draw during its ten minutes.” That matches Chosen activity. Chosen activity is the activity selected for the stated period. Adult checking note: This model uses the supplied lesson cards and notes. It does not describe every person, community or place. Answering a new question would need a matching source or a new observation.
A different response can also meet the criteria. Compare the evidence and reasoning, rather than copying the wording.
