Unit review questions
1. To draw a circle with a cross inside, which instruction must come before draw the cross inside?
2. Card X draws a bowl. Card Y draws a dot inside it. Card Z draws a line above it. Which can be first on blank paper?
3. On the same 3-by-3 grid, start at column 1, row 1 and follow RIGHT, RIGHT, UP. Where do you finish?
4. The goal is a triangle with two dots inside. Instructions draw a triangle and one dot inside. What is the test result?

The download contains your current choices and any checked feedback. Keep the separate transfer-task work in your own document; downloading its instructions does not mark it complete.

Use the skills in a new task

On paper, help an imaginary robot make a rectangle with two dots inside and a line below. Give ordered instructions, follow them, and repair this draft: draw a rectangle; draw one dot inside; draw a line below; stop. Then start at column 1, row 1 on a 3-by-3 grid and move RIGHT, UP to deliver the picture.

Work on paper or in your own document. Explain the choices you made.

  • Put the rectangle before instructions that use its inside or below.
  • Repair the dot instruction so exactly two inside dots result.
  • Test the repaired drawing and count its dots.
  • Trace both robot moves to column 2, row 2.
Compare with a model response

1. Draw a rectangle. 2. Draw two dots inside it. 3. Draw a line below it. 4. Stop. The draft was missing one dot; my tested picture has exactly two inside dots and a line below. The paper robot moves (1, 1) → (2, 1) → (2, 2).

A different response can also meet the criteria. Compare the evidence and reasoning, rather than copying the wording.
