Review: Read, Scale, Compare, and Round Decimals
Extend place value through thousandths and explain powers-of-ten changes.
Bring the unit skills together
Use these 4 new cases to check your reasoning. Choices are temporary and are not saved to an account, sent to staff or recorded as school grades. Download your current review choices before leaving or reloading.
The download contains your current choices and any checked feedback. Keep the separate transfer-task work in your own document; downloading its instructions does not mark it complete.
Use the skills in a new task
Compare 2.075 and 2.08, then round 2.075 to hundredths and multiply it by 100.
Work on paper or in your own document. Explain the choices you made.
- Draw or label the numbers or shape features the task gives you.
- Say why each calculation or shape choice follows the ideas in this unit.
- Check that your answer fits the story or drawing in the task.
Compare with a model response
2.08=2.080, which is five thousandths greater than 2.075. Halfway-up rounding gives 2.08. Multiplication by 100 gives 207.5 because every represented digit value becomes one hundred times larger.
A different response can also meet the criteria. Compare the evidence and reasoning, rather than copying the wording.
