Unit review questions
1. Which part of an invented bookshop visit is a service?
2. Original chain: wood → cut boards → assembled shelf. Jo cuts wood into boards; Rei assembles boards. What is Rei’s input?
3. Fictional one-choice slot: chess 15 minutes, drawing 15 minutes, story 15 minutes. Order: chess, story, drawing. All fit. Choosing chess gives up which next-best alternative?
4. Ana has red and prefers blue; Bo has blue and also prefers blue. Would a red-for-blue swap match both stated preferences?

Use the skills in a new task

Original pretend craft club: paper becomes folded envelopes through folding work; a courier carries them. There is one 15-minute slot, and Lou chooses one activity: folding 15 minutes, sorting 10, decorating 15; Lou ranks decorating, folding, sorting. Lou has an imaginary gold sticker and prefers silver; Min has silver and prefers gold. Explain a good and a service, Lou’s feasible choice and next-best alternative, and the proposed sticker swap.

Work on paper or in your own document. Explain the choices you made.

  • Identify a physical product and work.
  • Check activities against the 15-minute limit.
  • Name Lou’s choice and next-best feasible alternative.
  • Trace both sides of the imaginary swap and use both preferences.
Compare with a model response

An envelope is a good; folding it or carrying it is a service. All three activities fit, so Lou chooses decorating. Folding is Lou’s next-best feasible alternative given up. In the swap Lou would receive silver and Min gold, which match both stated preferences if both agree.

A different response can also meet the criteria. Compare the evidence and reasoning, rather than copying the wording.
