Review: Read a little story and write a clear sentence
Practice a small set of sound-spelling patterns, story details and sequence, and a complete response sentence.
Bring the unit skills together
Use these 4 new cases to check your reasoning. Choices are temporary and are not saved to an account, sent to staff or recorded as school grades. Download your current review choices before leaving or reloading.
The download contains your current choices and any checked feedback. Keep the separate transfer-task work in your own document; downloading its instructions does not mark it complete.
Use the skills in a new task
Adult may read everything aloud. Practice sentence: “Pam sat on a mat.” Blend the final word using m, short a, t. New story: “Pam lifts a bag. Pam takes out a cup. Pam sets the cup on a mat.” Tell who lifts the bag, retell the three events, and write or dictate a complete sentence answering where Pam sets the cup.
Work on paper or in your own document. Explain the choices you made.
- Blend m-a-t and attend to the final t.
- Identify Pam as the person lifting the bag.
- Keep lift, take out, and set in order.
- Produce a matching complete sentence with a capital and period.
Compare with a model response
The practice word is mat. Pam lifts the bag. First Pam lifts it, next takes out a cup, and last sets the cup on the mat. My answer is “Pam sets the cup on a mat.” I used the final story sentence, not a guess about where cups usually go.
A different response can also meet the criteria. Compare the evidence and reasoning, rather than copying the wording.
