A fictional resale feasibility file with an item screen, cost model, comparable sales, listing brief, return scenario and go-or-no-go decision.

Keep your working files in your own notebook or software. Save a private description, checklist, and work link in My Proof.

What to include

  • A resale-item screen with exclusions and verification needs.
  • An item cost sheet including fees, shipping and time. A comparable-sale note with a justified test price.
  • An unpublished condition listing and package-measurement brief.
  • A return scenario showing contribution, loss and cash tied up.
  • A resale feasibility decision supported by the full cost and return model.

Review and revise

Use these criteria to check your work and choose what to improve.

  • Calculations reconcile to the supplied records, with units and dates labeled.
  • Assumptions and missing information are visible, including the changed scenario.
  • The recommendation follows the evidence and explains an important limitation.
  • The six lesson outputs form a usable handoff that another learner can check.

Before you begin

The idea in everyday life

Use ten T1 attempts with nine retained and one returned: contribution before time $39.50. Every attempt takes 20 minutes valued at $12/hour. The fictional goal is at least $1 per attempt after this time allowance. No stock purchase, customer contact or live listing is required.

The idea

A useful business exercise may conclude that an idea should be revised or stopped. Show the decision threshold.

Decide whether the idea deserves a test — worked practice

A useful business exercise may conclude that an idea should be revised or stopped. Show the decision threshold.

Use ten T1 attempts with nine retained and one returned: contribution before time $39.50. Every attempt takes 20 minutes valued at $12/hour. The fictional goal is at least $1 per attempt after this time allowance. No stock purchase, customer contact or live listing is required.

  1. 1. Total time

Multiply 10 by 20 minutes and convert to hours.

You should see: 200 minutes, or 3 hours 20 minutes.

All attempts use time, including the return.

  2. 2. Value time

    Multiply 200/60 by $12.

You should see: Time allowance totals $40.

Do not omit unsold or returned-item effort.

  3. 3. Compare result

    Subtract time from $39.50.

You should see: Result is −$0.50, below the $10 group target.

The scenario fails the stated threshold.

  4. 4. Write decision

Recommend revising price/cost/time assumptions or stopping; attach all six records.

You should see: A complete resale feasibility file with an honest no-go result.

Completion depends on reasoning, not a profitable real sale.

Now change one thing

A batch contributes 55 before time, time allowance is 35 and there are 10 attempts. Enter contribution per attempt after time.

What to finish

A resale feasibility decision supported by the full cost and return model.

Common mistake

Watch for this

Buying inventory merely to prove the course was completed.
