An original fictional library-workshop poster with one clear hierarchy, honest event details, contrast and size tests, editable vector source and readable PNG/PDF.

Keep your working files in your own notebook or software. Save a private description, checklist, and work link in My Proof.

What to include

  • Create an original poster with one dominant title and complete fictional event facts.
  • Use a restrained type hierarchy, intentional alignment and grouped spacing.
  • Check long-text overflow and stated contrast pairs.
  • Inspect full/small renders and revise one specific failure.
  • Deliver editable vector source, checked PNG or documented equivalent, and same-content text.

Review and revise

Use these criteria to check your work and choose what to improve.

  • Hierarchy: visual priority follows the stated message goal.
  • Typography/layout: facts fit and groups are clear.
  • Access/truth: contrast evidence and equivalent fictional text are supplied.
  • Delivery: actual export is fresh and complete.

The idea in everyday life

Inspect the full composition and a small preview, but avoid pretending a desktop zoom test reproduces every viewing distance or print condition. Record the actual pixel/rendered size. The test asks whether title, date/place and action remain findable; it cannot prove every person reads them.

The idea

A poster should be checked at the size people will encounter.

Follow along

Test small and full-size readings — worked practice

A poster should be checked at the size people will encounter.

Original test: 800×1120 full view and 200×280 thumbnail. At quarter size, the 74 unit headline appears about 18.5 units; 30 unit details become 7.5. The headline remains a strong first clue, but details are too small for reliable close reading in that thumbnail. The fix for a small-format version is a different layout/size hierarchy, not a claim that the large poster scales perfectly everywhere.

  1. 1. 5.1 Test

Open the actual SVG/draft at its full intended working size and a 200×280 preview. Record both sizes and inspect any crop or missing glyph.

You should see: The actual two sizes are stated.

  2. 2. 5.2 Test

Locate title, date/place and action in each view. Use a checklist rather than claiming a universally successful first glance.

You should see: Essential information is checked in each.

  3. 3. 5.3 Test

Choose one failure, such as tiny essential details, and produce a separate small-format adaptation. Enlarge/reflow the affected group while preserving facts.

You should see: A targeted adaptation changes the failed group.

  4. 4. 5.4 Test

Repeat both inspections on the changed version and record which device/rendering checks were unavailable. A print or physical-phone check must be labeled separately if not performed.

You should see: Reinspection and unavailable checks are distinguished.

Now change one thing

New poster headline is 80 units and will be shown at 30% size. What is its scaled size in the same units?

Your work

What to finish

A two-size inspection log and one targeted adaptation.

Common mistake

Watch for this

Assuming a thumbnail test proves physical print-distance or phone behavior.

How can I tell I understand it?

You can connect a visible failure to a specific layout correction.
