Time includes reading, practice, and questions. Extra videos or further study are optional.
See this course’s project requirements

A provisional transfer packet with a credit inventory, requirement audit, prerequisite sequence, rule checks, route comparison, and specific advisor questions.

Keep your working files in your own notebook or software. Save a private description, checklist, and work link in My Proof.

What to include

  • Inventory every supplied course and count degree-applicable credit once.
  • Show category gaps, the prerequisite sequence, and institutional rule checks.
  • Compare both routes using stated priorities and unresolved costs.
  • Include correction notes, advisor questions, and a dated confirmation log.

Review and revise

Use these criteria to check your work and choose what to improve.

  • Credit arithmetic reconciles with the degree total.
  • Every course placement follows the supplied requirements and dates.
  • Comparisons distinguish credits, terms, and unknown costs.
  • Unconfirmed matches remain labeled and questions ask for specific decisions.

The idea in everyday life

Ari’s draft contains: W102→WR120 3 credits, source table effective 2024–2026 and course completed Fall 2025; M210 grade D listed as major-complete despite a C minimum; W103 missing from the guide; planned D201 next Fall though offered Spring only. These are fictional documents, so write requests but do not send them.

The idea

A useful review packet lets another person trace each claimed match to evidence.

Assemble an advisor review packet: guided practice

A useful review packet lets another person trace each claimed match to evidence.

Use paper or a free local text editor. This is an original fictional practice case; do not submit its records to a real service. Start this lesson with these facts, even if an earlier variation changed them.

  1. 1. Build evidence rows

Create columns: course, term/grade, proposed application, supporting record, status.

You should see: W102 has a traceable proposed match; M210, W103, and D201 need correction or review.

A row-level record makes the reasoning inspectable.

  2. 2. Correct known errors

Remove unsupported M210 completion and the Fall D201 placement.

You should see: M210 major status: unmet; D201: plan for eligible Spring offering.

Known conflicts should be fixed before asking for approval.

  3. 3. Draft focused questions

Write a concise advisor request covering W102 applicability and W103 evaluation materials.

You should see: Please confirm W102 fills writing for this degree/catalog year. What syllabus or assessment is needed to evaluate W103?

Questions should request decisions rather than ask the advisor to reconstruct the whole case.

  4. 4. Close the packet

Add the credit gaps, prerequisite sequence, route comparison, and a dated status log.

You should see: A complete provisional transfer packet with six lesson records and unresolved items clearly labeled.

A provisional packet can be complete even before an institution answers.

Now change one thing

Changed case: your review log has 5 items; 3 have written confirmation and 2 still await review. Enter the unresolved count.

Your work

What to finish

Assemble an advisor review packet record with the worked decisions and changed-case check.

Common mistake

Watch for this

Sending personal transcripts for a fictional exercise or presenting an unofficial guide as final approval.

How can I tell I understand it?

Turn a provisional audit into specific requests for official confirmation. Explain the evidence behind the result and correct any mismatch.
